Financial Report

That the Financial Statement is approved and the account for Don Edmonds for franked envelopes ($87) is passed for payment.

Te Rūnanga-ā-iwi o Ngāpuhi Trustee’s Report

  • Keith did not have a formal report as there has not been a Rūnanga board meeting since the last takiwā meeting.

  • Rūnanga Budget Meeting - 10am Saturday 28 June.

  • Discussion about the proposed wānanga to revitalise taumata kōrero.

Marae Reports

Te Iringa

  • Ron Dixon reported that the Trustee AGM is at 11am 21 June.

  • Housie is planned.

  • Awaiting defibrillator training.

  • Wānanga Reo.

Other Reports

Education

  • Northland College Principal Jim Luders wants to go out to the marae to find out what people want in the school and meet parents.

  • Would like to see kaumātua at the school.

  • Discussion about the role of a kaumātua - “What is a kaumātua?”

Te Hauora o Kaikohe

  • Trustees have had Governance Training.

  • Roger Milner is arranging defibrillator training - Winnie Leach will coordinate.

General Business

General Election

  • Sid reported that almost 80% of Māori in the north are not enrolled. Need to ensure that people are enrolled.

Meeting Venues

  • At this stage no marae has put their hand up for August meetings. Te Iringa will host August 2014 if necessary.
