  • Maikara Ropata gave a presentation on Agmonitor.

  • Noted that Te Hauora o Kaikohe is to become wholly owned by Te Rūnanga-a-iwi o Ngāpuhi..

  • Concerns expressed about youth issues in Kaikohe. Children asking for money etc.

That the secretary invites a police representative to a Takiwā Meeting to discuss youth issues in Kaikohe.


  • Reuben gave details of a meeting regarding Te Ohu Kaimoana, and a Communications Workshop. Notices will be sent out by email.

  • Roger Milner spoke about defibrillators on marae.

    • Eleven people were trained at Te Riingi marae.

    • Need more people to be trained.

    • Secretary to ask people to register for training by email.

    • People not on email to contact secretary if interested in training.

  • Winnie gave a further report on the Taumata Kaumātua Wānanga at Kaiwaka marae.

    • Need for whānau to discuss issues such as cremation, suicide and donating body parts.

    • Appropriate dress for powhiri also discussed.

  • Discussion about Te Taumata o Ngāpuhi. Te Wānanga o Raukawa has run wānango on Whaikōrero and Karanga
