Matters Arising

·         Health Seminar held at RSA 24th October was successful.

·         Youth Focus Group to be formed in the New Year, 2011 – 15 – 25 years.

Financial Report





Te Runanga-a-iwi o Ngapuhi Trustees Report

1.    Annual Report handed out.

2.    Te Pu O Te Wheke Collective – work on structure until March – work

through focus group options.

3.    Tuhunonuku – invite back in New Year.

4.    Ball – tickets available from Runanga.

5.    Last meeting 13/12/2010 for Runanga.




Marae Reports

·         Kohewhata - still progressing.

·         Te Kotahitanga – agenda need to have Te in front of Kotahitanga.

Community gardens at Raumati Para’s home.

·         Mahuhu-ki-te-Rangi – no AGM held; no audited books back as yet.

Water project being finalised.   Hui to be held in Whangarei – re marae investing in their people.  Introduced new chef in the area – Rob Goulton.

·         Okorihi – still moving.

·         Parihaka – William Reihana interim Chairperson.  Waiting for water filtering.  2 Awanuiarangi classes to held next year.  Have being doing a lot of catering.  Ball catering not confirmed. 


General Business

·         Te Hau Ora O Kaikohe – holiday programme being set out.  Youth working in schools.  Inter Marae cooking competition to be set up.  Registration packs to be sent out, when all in the date will be set.

·         Mahi Tahi Trust – school holiday programme has been set up, 11 to 17 years.  Free health checks to be conducted at the Trust.

·         Maori Wardens – Silver Jubilee to be celebrated 26 November.  Work being acknowledged by non Mäori organisations.

·         Department of Corrections - Toko Nathan gave an update of his role with Corrections.  Management to come to a Takiwa meeting.  Mahuhu-ki-te Rangi and Parihaka offer facilities for tikanga wananga for Corrections staff.

·         Challenge out to change the name of Corrections.


Chair wished everyone a very Merry Xmas and Prosperous New Year.
