Marae Reports

Pukerātā

·      Successful Art exhibition. Thanks for takiwā support. Considering another exhibition next year.

Te Iringa

·      New trustees have been elected.

·      Planning to reactivate wānanga with Awanui-ā-rangi.

·      Monthly Kaikaranga Wānanga. Call 4014942 and talk to Hokimate.

Other Reports

Education

·      Chris Saunders has been appointed as commissioner to govern Northland College. Hopefully he will be able to sort out long-standing property and finance issues.

·      Phil Gordon has resigned from Kaikohe Intermediate to take up the position of principal at Kelston Intermediate in Auckland.

Māori Wardens

·      Kiriwai reported that there are still some concerns but wardens are still working in the community.

·      Sonny offered to facilitate a meeting to bring the factions together.

That Edith and Sonny work with the factions to unite the wardens in the wider Kaikohe area.
